Parts suppliers
Discussion
guys and girls ...
can anyone recommend a good mail order/online parts supplier? having had quite a few years experience with classics i do most of my own maintenance and wondered if there was an equivalent to say moss, or rimmer bros, for the tvr owner. most of the websites i find seem to sell accessories rather than parts!
currently i need a new front headlamp glass and some window channels/seals
cheers

I think the nearest you'll get is......
www.tvrgear.com/
But thats out of action at the moment, I would think most dealers will send you a bit out in the post though

Headlight glass is just a standard H7 headlight IIRC only a tenner from your local TVR dealer (you'll probably need the sealing ring that goes round it too)
Can't help with availability or price on the other items. Some people here have reccomended Douglas Valley Breakers but I've never used them

Also, as I'm new to the game can anyone recommend a decent independent where i can take the car for a thorough checkover? I have a feeling there's a slight blow from the exhaust manifolds, and also a clicking noise (like a lone tappet) that i would like a second opinion on...
On another note, had a nice little run-in with one the very quick S types the other weekend and matched it until we both bottled out - just as well as I felt a gearchange coming on and i'm sure he would have pulled the lead
, they're quick for jags though...

re the manifold - you're probably right ... i've seen other threads suggesting the manifold for the tappety noise, but this is more like a clicking that is directly linked to engine speed (as opposed to throttle oppening) and its very isolated...
think i'll book the old girl in for a good old looking over.
