I have a K&N air filter but I need a base plate jobby that fixes to the Air Flow Meter where the K&N air filter then attaches too. The base plate has 4 rods and the air filter is then sandwiched between the base plate and another plate at the other end. Apologies for the poor description but I'm sure you know what I mean.
Just wondered if anyone knew where I can get one ?

Many Thanks

Have a k&n that fits as a replacement in the original setup, so still using the 4 rods and a plate on the end as per rover sd1 vitesse. Think that you then can re-use the original parts.

Thought that alternatives like cone k&n could be clamped to the AFM directly. So if you have this type, it should have come with a clamp or you need to get one.

I think I have a complete old K&N air filter with the end you need, I will try and find it on Sunday!

Worst case scenario, you wouldn't need a lot of engineering genius to make something up.

Take out the four rods... use short bolts to keep the 2 5/8in inlet. K&N makes a clamp on style 4" cone filter 6" long for a 2 and 5/8th opening.

Thanks for all the replies chaps.

Sorry if I did not make myself very clear but the 4 rods and end plates etc. is what I am actually missing. My current air filter (a cheap universal performance jobby) is secured on to the afm via a stainless jubilee clip. But the brand new K&N I bought ages ago needs to be installed via the 4 rods and plates at either end.

So just wondered if anyone had the 4 rods and plates spare ?

Thanks Andy, how much for the 4 rods and plates ?

Regards

Ian

Are you going to the Bishop Stortford Show like last year, if you are just get me a bugger and we can call it quits! You could also collect it then, unless you need it know?

Just e-mail me your address!

Had to replace the 4 rods on mine: used standard threaded rod. Seems that ordinary metric thread fits the AFM. As mentioned before, an end plate can be fabricated easily.

Just to clarify that I do not need the filter as I have a k&n, all I need is the 4 rods and 2 end plates etc.
