Going upto Croft Circuit on Friday 31st August from Lincoln and wondered if there was anywhere decent A1/Thirsk area to stop off for a coffee/brunch stop rather than using the services which we try never to use !!

Cheers

Plenty of decent cafes in Northallerton and the parking's not too bad there either.

There is a large car park behind Bettys cafe in the high street. Depends how much you want to spend on a coffee.

When you come off the A1 head on the A66 toward Penrith for just 1/4 mile
and there is a cracking butty shop (and good coffee) in the layby.
It is a brick building with toilets at the back (not a burger van)

When you have enjoyed your stop you then have to head towards Penrith again
but you can do a legal U turn in about 1/4 mile again.

Used it before a PH run out around Barnard Castle years ago and have used
it often since on way up to see son at Uni in Newcastle

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, we did in fact come off the A! towards Northallerton A684 I think and stopped at a really nice farm shop/cafe Spring House Farm at Scruton about 5 miles from Northallerton, coffee was excellent and the homemade iced cherry cake was to die for !!!
Can thoroughly recommend this as a stop off for any PH or car club members, they have parking in the courtyard for about 12 vehicles and a small lane outside can accomodate about another 10 or so.

Cheers again.
