Hi Guys,
Looking to get my mazda 6 serviced (6th service) and the lowest I have been quoted by a dealer is £370. Does anyone have any ideas what it should cost? Want to go to a dealer this time as just bought the car used and don't know any decent garages near mine.

Cheers

What does the hand book / service book say should be changed at this service?

If its just the oil and filter and 'check' everything else thats obviously not good value.

I have a 6 2.3 sport, awesome car and fast as well, servicing wise they are a doddle anyway, get to Halfords and buy the bits and have a fun Saturday!

Don't go over the Service miles between services. My boss had one new and a couple of services went slightly over on miles. The cam chain stretched and The whole engine ate all its valves. Less than 3 years old but admittedly high mileage and mazda weren't interested.

Personally I have been very pleased with the car. Powerful enough, kitted well and feels good to drive. No major issues (as yet - fingers crossed). I guess my only complaint till now is the lack of parking sensors. Might just get them installed myself.

The petrols are top. The Diesels, at least early ish ones, I wouldnt touch ever again. Biggest loss I ever made on a car thanks to the DPF. frown

I had a 56 plate 2.0TS tip - great car if a little thin on paint finish and heavy on road noise after my Passat.

3 friends have them, they like them a lot, never have any problems.

Do you have any recommendations for private garages for servicing (and costs)? I am in SW Ldn.

I have a 3 2.0 Sport that is main dealer serviced. My next service in Sept (60k miles, although car has only done 39k) is due to be around £160 (the cheaper one). The one I had last year (around 50k miles) was the more expensive and cost me nearly £300 for service and MOT.

Hope this helps. smile

My 3 is thin on the paint too. Apparently, it's due to the change to a more environmentally friendly water based paint.

They don't have the best depth though as mine is less than five years old, and has more stone chips than my 11 year old Bora had!
