A friend has just bought a 44 year old car from a 62 year old man. His parents bought it for his 18th birthday and its the only car he has ever owned. He is now 62 and retired and decided to sell the car. One owner and 44,000 miles and unmolested, labels still on seatbelts, and anti freeze label on radiator, dealer key rings etc. The owner worked for the supplying dealer and its the only job he has ever had, one car one job 44 years. Unique?. Cannot see it being repeated .... Amazing story!!

That sounds great.

Nothing wrong with being content in life but heck, that's taking it to extremes.

Great purchase. For my first car I bought a 1975 Caledonian with 21,000 miles on the clock owned from new by a disabled gentleman. It's still around.

As a stark contrast my first car had 5 former keepers and the female owner I ought it off was a taxi driver. Unique?

I won't tell you what it was until at least three of you ask.

A 68 Impy with 44K on the clock would be nice car to have. Any more info from OP or is that it???

It's possible to do wheelies in an Imp if you have a couple of friends to sit on the boot with their legs through the opened rear window.

Just a piece of useless information. smile

I think he should have kept it for the sentimental value, can't see it being worth much otherwise.

Actually I've just looked and you can get a good few grand for one!

I heard a story a while ago about a 98 year old woman in the us, who'd had the same car for about 60 years (of memory serves!). She'd been finally forced off the road by failing sight. I cannot for the life of me remember the car though I'm afraid!

I used to have another car. Have forgotten what it was. Total mystery. Maybe I should start a thread.

A decent Californian/Stiletto will be worth good money now. I think I have seem 2 outside of shows in the last 10 years. Lovely cars.

I bet he is depressed, seriously, if I had worked in one job and had one car and only done 1000 miles per year then I'd be looking at my life and asking some serious bloody questions! I did more than 44,000 miles in the first 3 months of driving!!!

WHAT IS THE CAR???
