Trident +Fiore +"Terminator" +help for a newbie
Discussion
I have just signed up and am not computer-savvy. I spotted some posts from last year, unfindable today, in which "Terminator" indicated that Trevor Fiore was still around, in Switzerland. I would very much like to be able to contact him.
My interest is in British stock-car racing. The 1964 champion was Trevor Frost from Woodbridge, Suffolk, a brillint hands-on mechanic. He did some chassis work on early Tridents. Curiosity: most internet sources name the Trident designer as being a "Trevor Frost", who lateradopted his mother's surname to be Trevor Fiore. My mind boggles: two men named Trevor Frost both working on the first Tridents? Fiore went on to do design work in Italy and for Citroen.
The Trident promoter in the 60's, Bill Last, had gone bankrupt by 1971, and I have no way of finding more about these early days. If anyone can help put me in touch with Trevor Fiore, I'd very much appreciate it. I am not sure how members on this site can correspond privately.

I am sure more knowledgeable folk will post contact details..Regards the whole TVR Trident affair..I feel it is probably a subject you will get more in depth knowledge about when talking to certain protagonists in the pub than reading any tamed down version in a book which is written in a way as to not encourage slander or defamation.
Trevor Frost as you state is Trevor Fiore.
I am sure the last thing he probably wishes to do is post on the subject of TVR!!
Good luck with your quest in finding out about stock cars though..
For the record The first Proper tridents were truly lovely things..not quite sure about the Butchered TR6 and Healey based things that came later.
Trevor Frost designed the body of the trident..definitely not the chassis.
This might be of some help but the site lists Trevor frost as departed so the Stock car world champ may be a different trevor??

If you wish to be contacted you need to enter a valid email address in your profile (Found under My Info>Profile at the top of the page) and then tick the box that says: Allows other members to contact you via the forums etc. (your email address isn't revealed)
To contact other members you click on their name at the side of their posts and then click on the test on the top right of their profile that says ['email me'] a page then appears that allows you to compose and send a message.
HTH
ETA trevor is indeed still around and has a Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/profiore Try contacting him through that.
If it was to do with historic TVR's I'm guessing Terminator is Colin.... I love his stories of the old days (even though before my time.... a man who was in a privalidged situation IMHO)

Thanks, V-8 GRF --- my server doesn't show an "e-mailme" box or indeed anything at the top right of the poster's profile page.
I have entered my own e-mail on my profile page, so perhaps a kind poster will use that. It may be that my location in Canada limits Pistonheads services (???) but ---.
Again, thanks to those who have preplied to my request in both the General and the Classics TVR forum.
To reassure, I have no particular interest in dodgy gossip stories about the Trident (most small car companies have a chequered, 'scue me, history!). I especially want to trace Trevor Frost's association with Trevor Fiore.

Trevor Fiore is still around but he doesn't have a son called Trevor as far as I am aware; so it must be the Man himself. It must be an old photo if he looks young. He's a very private person who doesn't like being contacted.
I suspect the Trevor Frost in Woodbridge you are referring to is a different person altogether. As far as I know Trevor Fiore never took part in any motor sport.

Seems unlikely the identity riddle will be solvable. I now suspect the internet sources that declare Trevor changed his surname from Frost to Fiore may be speculative imagination. Certainly the documented real-life Trevor Frost, chassis man and stock car champion of 1964, lived and died as Trevor Frost of Woodbridge, Suffolk. In closing, I'd like to thank posters in this forum for their patience and assistance and politeness: I wish all automotive forums were as collegial!
