LEXUS LS 460. Thoughts?
Discussion
We currently run a VW and a Lexus RX400h. I also have a weekend toy to get my real driving fix.
The VW has been appauling in it's reliability - replacement engine, clutch pack and EGR. And all in a little over 18 months from new. I'm fed up with the bloody thing.
I've been looking at the LS 460 on a 57 'plate or similar to replace the VW. These seem to be going for about £15,000 - £16,000 depending on mileage and spec.
It's a lot of car for the money, even more so than the RX.
I know it will be devoid of driving feel and will cost a fair bit in fuel and insurance. I don't mind that. What I want though is a car that won't let me down and that I can waft about in.
So any real life experiences or opinions out there?
Thanks.

I have the LS430 and quite frankly even though it is 11 years old its by far the best car I have ever owned. Costs so far (apart from pads and tyres) have been £200 new headlight bulb and £100 fitted for a Lambda in 3 years and 60k miles of ownership - car now has 160k on the clock.
Personally I would go for a well looked after low mileage late 430 before the £500 car tax (don't think the 460 was before the tax change) and possibly get it LPG'd (break even around 20k miles) - for a whole lot of bargewaftastic win.

OP, if you get close to NW London at any point, happy to show you my round my LS430 so you can get a good idea.Personally I would go for a well looked after low mileage late 430 before the £500 car tax (don't think the 460 was before the tax change) and possibly get it LPG'd (break even around 20k miles) - for a whole lot of bargewaftastic win.
