Lambda 1 Fault
Discussion
Hi All.
Have a problem with poor running and have plugged in laptop to find a Lambda 1 fault showing.
Checked connections above gearbox. All fine. Replaced sensor today and sadly it's still the same, poor running and fault still showing.
Have also checked ECU connector, which seems to be OK.
Any pointers as to where to turn my attention next?
Thanks

More likely to be lack of spark on one cylinder, though a stuck injector would do it. Injectors are more reliable than coils and HT leads as a rule though.
If you uses a stethoscope (or a long screwdriver against your ear) you can listen to each injector while the engine is running. It should be clicking clearly and you will be able to hear if one isn't closing.
Coils and leads would be my bet - but listening to injectors is free so try that first.

Just out of intrest, how did you clean your injectors ?
I carefully removed each injector from the rail, then I made up a connector the same as fitted to the cars wiring harness, with a switch in series. Connected to a spare 12v battery. Then sprayed carb cleaner through them while pulsing the switch until a good consistent spray pattern achieved.
Seemed to be very effective and sure beats the £15 per injector I had been quoted locally, which didn't include removing them from the car.
I can't take credit for the system, got the idea from here.....
