hehe He said Pompey and Posh in the same sentence.

Chewton Glenn has to be up there doesn't it. Can't think of any other places.
Bit outside your required area but we went here a few weeks ago. Probably the Poshest Cafe I've ever been in!

Can you just imagine what constitutes a "Cream Tea" in Pompey.

I knew when I posted that Pompey and posh was all wrong...

What about the Stansted Park place?

Not in the same league as the Glen, but Lily's in Wickham is quite pleasant, the eggs benedict are a great start to the day too.

Montagu Arms Hotel (Beaulieu)

No contest.

Dress nicely.
Soak up the ambiance.
Relax in a beautiful lounge.
Don't wince when you get the bill.

Oooh, good shout, spring tide tomorrow, take the boat, nip up to the hard in the village, cream tea and out before the water disappears.

Rhinefield House is another option.

Their cream tea is a very nice effort, though the interior decor feels a bit dated really. The outside is lovely and its easy to get to.

Agreed, or the Lime Wood which is owned by the same people. Seriously posh, just outside of Lyndhurst (can't comment on the quality, have never been but have heard good things!)

The best one I had was a flight from Hurn in a helicopter to Rhinefield House for afternoon tea (wedding present). If you want to do it in style I can give you our friends name for the helicopter!!!!

Another vote for the Lime Wood. Food wise it is fantastic, took a group of friends there after Royal Ascot this year.

Added bonus of having Meridian Modena Ferrari dealers just around the corner if you fancy a browse. In fact, they use it quite a lot for entertaining, which should give you an idea of quality and cost.
