(edited to say i've just noticed i have had no policy for 10 months not 6! time flies eh..)

I'll keep it brief, just want to know if ive any chance of getting anywhere with this or if i have been as dumb as i think i have? smile

1. Sold my car in Nov 2011. Insurance at this time had 7yrs no claims
2. As i didnt need a car until January i cancelled my policy. When i did get a car, it is a company car so no insurance required on my part
3. I am now buying a second car and wondering what happens about my NCB. I havent had any accidents in that time in the company car, however i haven't owned a car either

So, am i screwed and back at the beginning or does anyone know of an insurer who might consider my position? you dont seem to be able to articulate this on the usual website comparisons. I still have all the docs from the last 2 policies, and could probably get a letter saying i have not caused any claims in my company car. i must admit, policy prices on 0 NCB arent as scary as i thought they would be considering car is a z4m bmw

Majority of companies will take two years gap in insurance and honour thayour no claims, any more than that and alot will wipe it out and you have to start from scratch.

Recent experience suggests they will honour it for 2 years.

Policy vary. some will do 6 month, some a year. best call your insurance. i lost mine, had to resort to small pug 106 to build up NCB again redface

LV will let me use it up until 2 september (which was my renewal date on the last car). lucky escape..... all the other policies wanted a £3k excess LOL

edit to say went with esure in the end, they will honour upto 2yrs previous, LV are sending me proof of NCB until when i cancelled, then i can account for the gap by way of a letter..... smile
