Interest rate 0% check
Monthly payments £399 check
£29,500 deposit, a little more challenging
£40k+ balance to pay at the end, a little more challenging still

Interesting it is a two year deal, but servicing is free for three years. I guess they expect you to keep it

So you give them £29,500, pay £400 a month for two years and the most likely outcome at the end of the period is:

a) You hand it back, walk away and are left with nothing

b) You part-exchange and are left with the difference between £43,096.99 and the second hand value of a two-year old AMV8. Any guesses?

To get your initial £29,500 deposit back it would have to be worth £72,597 after two-years....

Alternatively, at the end of two-years you refinance the £43,096.99 over a further 36 months which would cost about £1,340.80 per month at 4% on an HP agreement. At the end of which you have a five year old AMV8.

Seems like a good deal to me.... smile

Best way to buy an Aston is wait six months and pick a nearly new one up for 15 - 50k less than list depending on the model.

No finance deal, no matter how good, is worth taking out if it is based on list price (something no Aston dealer expects to get close to)

I think it's a good deal, if only for some.

Probably designed to get all those "nearly new" one or two year old car buyers who are relying on traditional finace packages into new cars .

The major problem with finance packages for me is that when you sit down & look at the figures laid out in front of you, you can't help but wince!

I'd rather just buy this and have something I can call my own:

Aston's do nothing for me.

They look good, the interior is lovely, the V8 engines sound great, but they leave me completely cold. I don't know why.

Good job we are all different then!

There was speculation on the Aston forum that there may be either an update or a new model on the horizon, but majority view came down to just marketing off cars as business is slow in the UK despite record sales globally.

I think the problem with these packages is that it defers the true cost of the car and enables buyers to say 'oh yeh mate, it's only 400 a month. Couldn't refuse really.'

Then in 2 years time, having spent £40k, you effectively have nothing.

+1

I'd take a harsher finance deal and a 991 any day of the week!

"Now you can own an Aston Martin V8 Vantage from only £399 per month"

They could come up with any figure really, like £99 per month, with a big enough deposit. Are people that thick that they can't reverse engineer the offer and understand the true cost of those "deals" ? Or is it just an incentive for more "man maths" ?

I couldn't afford the finance on my 991 so I used my own money instead. Deeply satisfying.

because ... in 14yo school boy way ... they are ste ... I have longingly lusted after the DB9, DBS and V12V. They are beautiful and sound wondrous. Initially they are a really nice drive - you feel on top of the world. Everyone smiles at you. People go out of their way to speak to you. You catch yourself looking at that gorgeous shape and deeply lush paintwork ... them you come to a spirited drive ... oh dear. After a while the 12V, drive and handling becomes wearing especially trying man handle 1.7t+ tonnes around in a big car such as the DB9/DBS. The running costs are horrendous, usually never more than 16mpg+, arm removing service every year and below average reliability. A third party warranty from warrantywise is £6+k for three years - that says it all.

And then you get into a Porsche. Your smile comes back. The handling is out of this world. The driving position is just right. The car feels small and part of you. It communicates every move through the wheel. It feels like a surgical instrument compared to the shot gun/old school way of the Aston... and then you go for a spirited drive ... OMFG!!

We haven't even mentioned the good reliability, relatively cheap servicing nor 25ish mpg ... I am even getting to like the porsche salute (W Anchor)biggrin

So would 0% interest, free servicing on a fast deprecating Aston V8 tempt me over to the dark side? No nono

Yes, I know what you mean, but a mate had a V8 Vantage with proper suspension and such and it was very good. Not for me though, as like you I'm a Porsche man (991) and probably wouldn't have anything else.

The 997.2 is definitely in a different league to an Aston V8, and IMHO the 991, even in Carrera format, is a game changer - in my limited driving time, it is absolutely awesome thumbup
