Best extended warranty for a 2008 335d?
Discussion
I am pretty familiar with the BMW Mondial warranty scheme - you can take out a Mondial warranty if your car has been serviced in accordance with BMW service schedule (but not necessarily by them) however once you take out the warranty all future servicing must be carried out by BMW (in fact it is the number 1 in their T&C's) which is something to factor in to your costs.
Hold on here DPF is a service item with a max life of 150k yet could go much sooner dependant on how it has been driven.
A warranty to cover service items.... Seriously???its like saying you want a warranty for a clutch again should last 150k miles yet that's wear and tear ditto DPF
Sorry if that's not what you wanted to hear but if you honestly find a genuine warranty covering service items post yo and let others share in a deal which will cripple te business offering it.
Out of interest what does the idrive tell you the DPF has left to go?

The OP hinted strongly about his worry re DPF failure (wear ad tear item ad a service item up to 150k miles service life).
No warranty will replace wear and tear items unless it's premium is silly high to cover the cost of the work...
This is true- I've not even bothered to ask as looking into it, and thinking about it- who in their right minds would cover something liable to break dependent on the style of driving. No warranty will replace wear and tear items unless it's premium is silly high to cover the cost of the work...
BMW warranty it is though- cheaper than warranty direct.

First thing though what does it say on your idrive service interval for the DPF? BMW warranty it is though- cheaper than warranty direct.
They wear out and depending on how it has been driven to date it will amend its remaining life accordingly. Mine is planned to last best part of 150k miles - that is what it was designed lifetime.
Or buy a much higher milage 335d say 160k miles and that will have a new DPF fitted so 150k miles to go worry free.

That's an easy one- nothing as I haven't bought the car yet! I just wanted to make sure that buying a 335d from an indy dealer would be ok for the BMW warranty.Interesting though- that's how clueless I was- you can check how long the DPF has go to go on the idrive?
So for those cars not equipped with this, there is no way of telling?
Are you expecting the car to go wrong OP? I read so much posts on here about warranties and how peeps wouldn't buy a car without one...maybe I've just been lucky with my current BM - owned 3 years and nothing has gone wrong (bar my climate control unit, which has just started playing up), even though it's 14 years old!

The BMW warranty is the only one worth having, if you want to gamble a huge premium somethings going to go wrong. In my recent experience the Warranty wouldn't pay out, and on items it did I had to jump through so many hoops, I gave up and paid for the work. That was on an M3. The 335 had been good so far. I needed a bonnet cable which was 60 pound fitted. Previous owner had already changed problem items like solinoids and boost pipes. I personally don't bother with warranties, I just have a bit put by.
