Hi has anyone used any NCP Car Parks before in Central London ? Are they safe to leave a BMW M in there overnight without being stolen, vandalised, parking dings or anything else missing ? Mine is E46.

I think it depends more on where you are exactly. I left my hired Vaux Vectra in an NCP in central london for 2 nights whilst on a course in Hatton Garden. Came back to the car to find it had 2 smashed windows and all the compartments open and damaged. With the olympics still under way thieves are rife and looking for areas where security is already stretched.

Why do you need to leave your car in central London overnight?

If I'm shopping or visiting then I usuallly leave it in the Hammersmith NCP and just hop on the tube, much easier. If staying centrally then most hotels with have their own parking.

Where do you need to be? If central / west end, I always use Q Park behind the John Lewis on Oxford Street, Cavendish Square. No foot access unless you have the parking ticket which needs to be scanned to gain entry. Secure doors on entry which only open when a car pulls up close and same on exit. 35GBP per 24 hour period, but depending on when you need to park, has a 6pm to 7am night rate also

If your cars in the west end it'll be one of the cheaper cars in their. Suggest you take a look in Cadogen Sq, park tower or Grosvenor Hill CP's. All the arabic cars have to park somewhere.

Had a hotel room booked just did not want to leave it in a dodgy place as normally in a garage safe and sound. All sorted i left it in Holland Park where there are lots of decent cars about as the hotel was in Shepherds Bush. Thanks for everyones input. The valeter at the hotel wanted me to leave the keys with him .... err no thanks .... and they charge a fortune to park in a hotel when it is free to park on certain roads on Sundays

I leave mine around shephards bush all the time often parked in the roads while staying at the local hotels, lots of nice cars around that area to take the theives and vandals attention as long as you dont leave anything on display.

I've never had a problem in an NCP car park, and usually use the Semley Place NCP by Victoria Coach Station if I'm visiting London.

Just go to the normal sensible precautions of ensuring that nothing is left on display and your satnav sucker marks are wiped from the screen, and you'll have no problems .... No matter what car I'm in, I'll try and transfer valuables to the boot before entering the car park to limit the risk of a "spotter" seeing that there is anything in the car of interest, and if at all possible empty all of the compartments like glove boxes, and leave them open for opportunists to see that they are empty ~ Replacing a glass, and/or driving home in the rain without a window are often a lot more of a cost / hassle than losing a £50 satnav or half dozen CDs.

Wow that is really good advice thanks :-)

Do u find are the parking spaces big enough so no one leaves any parking dings on your pride and joy and there is plenty of space ?
