with the clutch it has.....i wouldn't be suprised if he tried his hardest to park well.haha
nothing wrong with the cgt clutch , takes 5 minutes to trust the anti stall . too much myth and legend about the CGT .also to the OP cgt owners should get a pass to park wherever the hell they want imho !

these threads are always an interesting window in to how individuals within a society perceive the "social contract" to be written.
interestingly theres more people in the general public get their knickers in a twist over a car parked in two spaces miles from anywhere with an abundance of empty and available spaces in the vicinity then seem to care about those who just bang their car doors into other cars etc without any consideration at all.
if the car in question is an expensive one then its magnified.
living within a city centre, the amount of truly horrendous and inconsiderate parking i see is ridiculous. whats worthy of a mention is that cars taking up two spaces within a large car park in order to self protect are never part of this issue. the footprint of the type of parking mentioned by the OP is, in most cases, insignificant.

This is not myth and legend, some cars may well have had "anti stall" but my #114 2004 US model which had had a new "updated" clutch in 2005 was a total b
d to get off the line and a hill start was a horrible thing and even prompted me to make this ridiculously pointless video....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fehUEJo0U3E&lis...
And just to show I wasn't totally inept

Agree entirely, the car is wide and the doors open even wider, 2 spaces please and the OP should be grateful he got a good look at this iconic beast

With respect to the clutch you may need to work on your pedal control or feel unless your car is faulty . I have had 2 CGTs (A VERY early car and my current 06 car ) and covered over 35 000 miles in them now with trackdays from brands hatch to monza ( and everywhere in between ) . I commute regularly into London and have driven my current car in most euro cities and I genuinely do not have a problem .
Perhaps you should have it looked at ? All I need to do is concentrate a little more ( which to be fair I would do in my CGT anyway ). Parking ( and hill starts ) certainly should not be an issue and I am not really interested in full bore launches , I prefer to roll then go flat out .
Caymanred your father should also use this method .

And don't forget just how wide a CGT is......I passed one coming the other way on a 'B' road once. Not alot of room but a very nice noise !!!
I would imagine that a CGT wouldn't have a great deal of space in a 'standard' UK parking bay.
I'll bet they are positively slim compared to the Aventador that passed me today....crikey that was wide! I would imagine that a CGT wouldn't have a great deal of space in a 'standard' UK parking bay.

Looked damn mean in black though.

Maybe my car was faulty but like I said it had a new "updated" clutch and was still a horrible thing to use. Yes my legs are skinny but I drive my 7GT2 with organic 890NM clutch daily in traffic without issue and spent a while driving by 993 turbo with a sintered disc which was quite challenging in traffic but I'd still say the CGT was worse since at least one could use the sintered with some revs, I found the way the CGT revved up not conducive to any (reasonable) sort of slipping and letting it trickle away at idle was virtually impossible up any sort of incline, so the clutch issue is not a myth but sounds like some set ups were worse than others. Perhaps you should have it looked at ? All I need to do is concentrate a little more ( which to be fair I would do in my CGT anyway ). Parking ( and hill starts ) certainly should not be an issue
