A friend was involved in an RTC and we were chatting about what'll happen to the car. I don't suppose any knowledgeable PHers know whether this is a write off or repairable?

The front of it is ruined with both headlights shattered all over the road, the radiator looks done for and I suspect engine mounts are broken etc. Would you say the insurance company is likely to write this off or is it repairable? I suspect that its definitely consigned to death, do any of you think there's a hope for this wee Polo?

Definately no hope, that polo is probably worth what? 3000 tops? That looks like nearly 3000 worth of damage just from the outside.

Even with my own jig and second hand parts I wouldnt bother with that, sorry to say that would be a pointless exercise to repair.

That would write off a brand new Polo, let alone an old one.

We are all good thanks buddy. I live near the scene so I was able to run down the road and see what was going on. It was a good little runner before the crash. Something like a 2008 model with barely any miles.

I suspected it'd definitely be getting squashed. Such a shame!
Nobody hurt in the crash, everyone walked out.

yes

You would write this particular polo off with just a couple of large dents.

I expected it to have a dented wing and missing front bumper or something similar confused

That would write off most cars.

I would say definitely dead OP frown

I had a front end smash in my Mk3 Mondeo, no where near as bad as yours but the front end was a mess and the air bags went off,. The repair bill was around 7.5k!! She went to the great scrapyard in the sky (shock)
