Is it me or does the new Focus ST front end look bad?
Discussion
This would be the front of the car, particularly where the bonnet opens and around the lights, you don't notice it so much on the other models as they have another mini grille which hides it a bit better. I don't mind the big gaping Aston style grille, that's fine.
Granted I haven't actually seen one in the flesh, just in pictures so far so maybe it's better in real life.

I want to really love this car, but as the OP & others have stated some of the details are just wrong imho, it is since they have had to make it a global car to keep so many markets happy.
I will always have a soft spot for fast fords though, so i will focus on the positives(no pun intended) & respect the performance & decent engine & the lovely recaros.

I always thought the last ST to be a bit of an overpowered sofa, a quick car with a good engine but the not the last work in hot hatch fun. In comparison, that outgoing model is a gem compared to the one we've got now. An ugly 5 door, with the most horrendously overstyled design - who signed that stupid exhaust tip off? And now with a regular 4 cylinder, it doesn't even have an engine to give it a USP.

Yes that bits certainly unusual,I suppose after the Vx VXR and Honda Civic types they thought they'd have a go too, wonder if after-market exhausts will start offering weird shaped tail pipes too
It's just the cowl rather than the exhaust itself. If any exhaust isn't cylindrical then it loses efficiency.A couple of pics of a white one:

I quite like the new design, bit worried about the gap at the top of the bumper, especially since I have a red one on order!

On another note, I must say I spotted afew mk1 focus' today, which has aged very very well.
Agreed, the latest Focus could be a KIA, just another anonymous family hatch. I especially don't like the rear light clusters. The Golf still looks different and has road presence, Standard Focus will make an ideal unmarked bib car.oobster said:

No it's not pretty, I think it's mostly the gaping grill I don't like. The exhaust isn't too bad in my eyes, at least they're trying to make it more interesting than a couple of ugly little holes; points for effort, and all that.
Welcome to the Internet, take some time to familiarise yourself with the customs and conventions.
