European Road Trip - I've started so i'll finish...

So I decided to go on an adventure while I can, as I'm not sure how long I can afford to run my Tuscan so I'm going to make the most of it. The plan is as follows:
Hull to Rotterdam on North Sea Ferries - COMPLETE
Rotterdam to Frankfurt - COMPLETE
Frankfurt to Munich - 03/09/12 - 05/09/12
Munich to Seefeld (Austrian Alps) - 05/09/12 - 07/09/12
Seefeld to Milan (Italian GP) - 07/09/12 - 09/09/12
Milan to Lake Como - 09/09/12 - 11/09/12
Lake Como to Cagnes sur Mer (Nice, South of France) - 11/09/12 - 14/09/12
Cagnes sur Mer to Lake Lucerne (Switzerland) - 14/09/12 - 15/09/12
Lake Lucerene to Rotterdam - 15/09/12
Rotterdam to Hull North Sea Ferries - 15/09/12
All is well so far, car running nicely apart from boot release failing to work at the first petrol stop which meant I had to take the rear of the car apart (pics below)! But could be worse and I brought tools with me so all gravy. Arrived safely in Frankfurt yesterday!

I got back from my Euro tour in the Chim500 a couple of weeks ago.
Have you now fixed the boot release issue, or will you have to take it to bits each time?

1 Ferry Newcastle to Amsterdam
2 Amsterdam through Germany to Lucerne (8+ hours non stop!)
3&4 Lucerne to Sirmione Lake Garda via Stelvio Pass (2 nights)
5&6 Lake Garda to Monaco (2 nights)
7 Monaco to Lake Como
8 Lake Como to Basel
9 Basel to Luxumberg
10 Luxumberg to Amsterdam
11 Ferry Home
Stelvio, Lake Como and Monaco were the best stop-offs.
The Chim had just had it's big 12,000 mile service didn't miss a beat!

Did something similar a few years back. Enjoy the run from Milan to Como as there are miles of fantastic tunnels around Lecco. Wind the windows down and enjoy!!! Though be careful you don't lose the rear window like another Tuscan we saw. 
Sounds great! Already been through a fair few tunnels in Germany, can't wait to get to Italy though. My screen should be ok, I bought a mk2 screen which is a little bigger than the mk1's and are meant to stay put!!FreeLitres said:

Sounds like a cracking trip, we're hitting Como and Monaco whilst we're in Nice, gunna go for the day. I looked at Stelvio, not sure we'll have time to pick it up though which is a crying shame. Was hoping to get there & whack the old helmet cam on the side of the car for the whole run!Day#

I forgot to update earlier, we are now in Munich! The trip over from Frankfurt did not go without incident however. Left the hotel and headed for the first petrol station, filled up and then got the message on the dash: ! WARNING !
EFI Fault
Diagnostic code B, or speed sensor not releasing zero switch. Funily enough I had no speedo or dash functions all the way here so had to rely on satnav speedo.
If anyone can tell me where to look for this and what to look for I would be most greatful!!

The folk seemed interested in my bright red Chim, but I imagine that Tusc in THAT paint will take it to a whole new level!
Yeah it's had a fair bit of attention! hundreds of people gawping on the Autobahns. I parked up in Frankfurt and left it at the side of the road, upon my return there was a small crowd of people taking pictures! I would dread to think what they would make of a nice shiny one, or can you imagine what they would make of a Sag??!!How are the locals reacting to your Tuscan?
