What i don`t like about matching wheel sizes front and rear is you have to make up the 1" difference with the wall height causing it to look slightly odd .
Errr....why? Seriously, I have been running on 205/40 17s all round and the handling is great. It also looks ok, but isn't nose down.215/40/17

One thing did happen though - bonnet popped open at 135 mph, possibly due to more air getting in under the front and bowing the bonnet? Observations welcome.

Not a lot wrong - about 3% I think. Which is how far wrong my daily driver is too on the correct tyres. Will check with the satnav.
I went to buy 215s, but all they had to hand was 205s, and they were molto cheapo, so as I knew I was going to trash them on track days, a spot of "what the he'll" crept in

205`s on the rears is very wrong !I went to buy 215s, but all they had to hand was 205s, and they were molto cheapo, so as I knew I was going to trash them on track days, a spot of "what the he'll" crept in
A light weight high power rear wheel drive car with 205`s on the rear, you must be crazy ..

The minimum width for the rears are 225`s ,you will need a 7.5j rim ..
Hear what you are saying. Car going in for oil change etc today, I will ask he who knows for his opinion. I am not arguing with you, I agree it does seem wrong. They are Yokohama Paradas, and I tend to use it in the dry only.
In my defence, the Pro Jaguar test driver who drove it at my request for a few laps on my last track day remarked that the handling was a lot better than he expected and seemed very well sorted. His only suggestion was to fit less sticky tyres to make the car a bit looser!

Yes, he did......which was quite reassuring, as I had no real idea what a TVR should feel like.
It still feels good, but the man with the knowledge and the ramp andaa socket set says my rear Billies are weeping a bit and will only get worse, so he recommends replacing them with something adjustable.
The front wishbone rubbers are needed because I asked him to check why I got a heavy vibration braking hard from 110/120 mph, and he noticed slight play in those joints and said he would replace those first before seeing if there was any issue with warping of the discs.
