crashed bonnet restoration
Discussion
The used bonnet was delivered 3 weeks ago. It was in really bad condition. There were rockfalls and two poor repaired crashed areas. It was also pain in the ass to fix the bonnet to the car! The photos show you how far is the procedure until now. I am going to install the lights this week. (The color I used is PBE Chrysler Viper GTS Blue-Met)

Im doing the same light conversion over the next month.... I bought some 3r light pods as a temporay measure while I make my own design, they are going behind the stock 3r light cover though as I quite like the shape.
The 3r light covers do fit the older clam... if you cut the hole out lol.
any tips or things to look for with the conversion?

The glass fits good to some extent in my case. The length of the lens is the same length as the highest and lowest point of the holes on the GTO clam. In my opinion the new lenses are a little bit thinner than the original one. Also the border of the glasses have a little bit different thickness. (but this is not really an issue)
@gadgeroonie: which measures do you need?
There are no special considerations at all. Cut the holes out (smaller hole is bigger than a bigger one
) and be careful when you handle with betasil! (a glue for bodywork)

Would those prices be x2? I worked on it with a friend of mind.

i see you drew on the GTo clam to show where the light go befroe you cut it out
does that mean the glass from a 3r fits over the lights of a GTO clam ?
does anyone have a lense from a 3r i can borrow to measure
It does gadge. Mine is my original clam. Having looked closely at a few 3r clams , I would say, if you take your time you can get a better than factory fit. does that mean the glass from a 3r fits over the lights of a GTO clam ?

Why do you need to measure a lens?
Aswell as the storage space will avoid the worry I have of the carpet areas on the chassis sections being damaged with foot traffic in and out, the lid would be a simple area to re-cover if needed. Definately will be looking into this add on. What did you make it out of, could knock up something in timber easily enough but sheet plate may be better / lighter.
