What car am i thinking of?
Discussion
PH'ers,
I saw a car yesterday, that i thought was really smart, my friend also has one but i'm unable to contact him to ask him what it was.
I feel embarrassed for asking, but it's really getting to me.
It was a BMW, pretty sure it was 4 seats not 5, it was a 3 series as the badge said 325 & it looked like it was a hard top convertible if that makes any sense? I.E. hard roof folds into the boot (this might not be the case it just looked like it!
I've no idea on the year as it was on a private plate, but it was within the last 7 years i'd say.
Winner get's a digital beer!
Thankyou!

They're still a bit pricey for me (around the £16k mark i believe).Post pics up on here when you buy one, there's a good lad

I've only just bought myself a Smart Forfour Brabus, so i need to keep this for 12 months before i can justify something newer

Oh and BTW, when it comes to cars, coupled with your PH membership - there's no need to justify to anyone the purchase of another car - you should know that by now

Oh, Smart Brabus sounds like a cool, interesting choice - nice. What's it like? You enjoying it?

It's a really nice little car, AT figures for fuel economy are extremely optimistic!Oh and BTW, when it comes to cars, coupled with your PH membership - there's no need to justify to anyone the purchase of another car - you should know that by now

Ride is quite firm, but it goes well for a 1.5 & surprises a lot of people, it's a bit under-steery, interior is also a nice place to be with leather everything, the car itself however seems to be a dirt magnet!

I'd imagine it's quick for a 1.5 cos it's quite light, yeah?Ride is quite firm, but it goes well for a 1.5 & surprises a lot of people, it's a bit under-steery, interior is also a nice place to be with leather everything, the car itself however seems to be a dirt magnet!
Understeer can maybe be tuned out a bit with tyre pressures - perhaps less air in the fronts and more in the rears? Or just use the tried and tested technique I have used to good effect - in front-drivers...set it up for the bend, brake hard to get the rear light, then turn and lift-off the throttle to get it swinging how you want it?
Dirt magnet comment is funny - what colour is it?

Yeah it's a 1.5 turbo, it's the same sort of speed as a Cooper S (my brother has one of those).Understeer can maybe be tuned out a bit with tyre pressures - perhaps less air in the fronts and more in the rears? It's silver, but the minute it's clean it just seems to attract every ounce of dirt, no idea why!

With regard to cleaning and dirt - a good-quality wax finish will help to repel that. What is your cleaning regime and what products do you use?

Oh turbo - didn't realise! Oh well, in that case, I bet it's a right laugh. Can you get it re-mapped or up the boost at all?

Cleaning regime, is whenever it's not going to rain in the next 2-3 days as it's a bit of a bugger cleaning, polishing, putting it to bed & then it raining in the night for it to the same colour in the morning as when it was before i cleaned it!With regard to cleaning and dirt - a good-quality wax finish will help to repel that. I use AutoGlym shampoo, the 2 bucket method, auto glym fast glass & auto glym super resin polish with micro fibre cloths to dry & polish, wax is something i clearly need
