Oxymoron?

I hope not. I love my E36 M3 but the thing it really lacks is a reliable drink receptacle. You might have thought 320bhp of straight six loveliness was enough but no, I want somewhere to put my can.

Suggestions please. Nothing too Alan Partridge

Good shout actually. There are 2 currently on eBay- one about a fiver with a week to go and another BIN for a slightly scandalous £55 (quoting new price as £120-eek!). At that price I may as well hire poor children as and when needed to hold my drink.

I need something to hold the Red Bull close enough to my throwing arm...

I bought a Halfords 'Ripspeed' folding cup holder a few years ago. It's a nice, quality looking item IMHO and not too chav (and I had it inside my Porsche 911, so it absolutely had to NOT look cheap / chav).

It fits to a heater grille / vent. It folds away, and you press a button on the side and it opens out into a cup-holder in a nice, damped action.

I've had it for 5 years now, in two different cars - and it still looks nice and performs well. All for £15.

These are OEM replacement for the centre console, never seen one in a car though.

I also own an E36 and this topic is relevant to my interests...
