Top Gear - not funny at all

I haven't watched since christmas special debacle of last year. It was however on when I flicked planner on sky and I was very alarmed to hear the stupid and idiotic comments about locking people's bikes up with other locks.
This is about as funny and equivalent as slashing someone's car tyre, in fact it is probably worse as it is easy to prove you own a car and therefore get it towed away or a tyre replaced, not easy to prove to a locksmith or someone else you will have to pay a fortune to come out and cut a lock away, if indeed in the meanwhile some scrote hasn't come along and stolen your wheels, bars, saddle, seatpost and groupset which are going to be worth more than a very expensive tyre in most cases. Not to mention the fact that you can't get home to see the kids, deal with an emergency etc.
Whilst I am so so glad I am not watching this rubbish anymore, does anyone with half a brain cell not see what they are putting out and make amends. If Richard Porter had anything to do with that I would be very, very disappointed. Even Hammond said why not just advocating smashing people's windscreens in and to be honest I wouldn't put it past Clarkson doing just that, he seems to love smashing perfectly good cars up after all. Moron.

Because everything said on Top Gear is meant 100% seriously, obviously.
It is a program that is intended for entertainment. If you are not entertained, don't watch it. Simple as that.

Like I said, I don't watch it. And it is to do idiots making comments that affect cyclists so it should be here, but sorry if you are a moderator and disagree.It is a program that is intended for entertainment. If you are not entertained, don't watch it. Simple as that.

I'm with the OP on this. Not his opinion of TG, but of locking up someone else's bike. It's a trick that's been used by bike thieves to buy themselves time. Add their lock to your bike. Dress back, observe. You come along, can't get your bike unlocked, naively presume it's a genuine mistake or prank. Go away to try to sort it out, come back to find Pride and Joy is gone.
If the thief gets disturbed whilst cutting off your legitimate lock, he will try to bluff his way out by producing the key to his lock, to 'prove' ownership, whilst convincingly telling the person who's challenged him that he thinks someone has maliciously locked his bike up. Either way, he's on his heels with your bike. If this happens to you, try not to let your bike out of your sight, and give the Police a ring straight away, especially if it's in a Railway station or other high-bike-crime area. Most forces have ongoing investigations into bike crime, especially when it's on a large scale. You may be surprised to find that they are actually interested, especially if there's a good chance of an arrest.

OP, this is a thread subject that pops up every now and then. The general response is "It's an entertainment show, it's lads (ha) having a laugh, it's funny, it makes millions for the BBC, if you don't like it then turn over".
Personally, I think TG is unwatchable, and car/driving shows are done a massive dis-service by having this on. But, and I guess like PH too, the target demographic audience is now so broad, quite easy to please being fed complete crap, but would leave in droves was it a show focussed on "real" driving and auto related features.

+1Cannot abide it any more and unfortunately some brainless tossers that still watch it would go out and do this in the same way they add sugar to your petrol tank, nails under your tyres etc
Oh and I thought Clarksons wife had got sick of him and left him too.
