Did anyone see that Eddie Jordan interview with BE where he said how sad he was that Schumacher was leaving F1? Expected a thread on it http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/19459265 - maybe there is somewhere....

Hello from the other captainsensib1e.

I suspect that's just Bernie playing tricks. Schumachers has said he won't announce anything until October although its hard to see why he'd continue as he's clearly past his best.

But did you see Micky Cobbler's reaction when Liz told him what Bernie had said?

Schumacher didnt even flinch, he just said (along the lines of) 'Maybe Bernie meant 'IF' I leave'.

...Its all hype that Bernie would have orchestrated with Schumacher before hand ie:

'Listen Micky, we need some more transfer speculation stories - lets tell 'em all you are packing it in again yer?... at least until Ferrari decide if they are going st or get-off-the-pot with Massa... oh and heres a few quid until you start winning again'

They mentioned it on BBC after the race and also had an interview with MS saying he hadn't made a decision.

I bet Merc would not want him to leave the team although they'd not be too fussed if he no longer drove for them. Merc took on MSc for a number of reason, one of which was to keep the board onside.

Yes, I like this. Pretty much my thinking- It could've also been MSC's way of telling Braun to give him a large salary and a competetive car in 2013... or else...?

Will the real Captain Sensible please stand up!

Watching the Beeb at the weekend I thought it was quite bizarre - imho schumi is clearly going, and I agree he is past his best - but that's a senile moment from Bernie surely!
