Road cycling holidays / training camp

I'm keen to have a week in Europe during the winter on one of these cycling holidays / training camp things. I'm not a racer, just enjoy riding my bike. I've seen a few over in Tenerife and mainland Spain. Has anyone been on one they can recommend? I'm not sure I'm quite there fitness wise, but they all seem to say that they can accomodate most people. Having said that I wouldn't want to be that slow that I'm holding up the slow group.

I've not been doing much riding lately, but usually manage a 50 mile ride every weekend (did 70 miles around W.Yorks/Peaks yesterday with 6500ft ascent).

I haven't done a training camp or similar there, but I know the Costa Blanca around Calpe very well as I have relatives in the area.

It's hugely popular with camps and with pro teams for a few good reasons - the terrain covers everything from rolling stuff along the coast to full-on mountains at 2000m inland, the roads are like billiard tables, there's hardly any traffic away from the coast, the locals are very considerate to cyclists, the scenery is stunning and the weather is perfect! There's plenty of great places to go out and about too.

fuerteventura seems very very popular. Last time I was there on hols the roads were packed with men and women about 5'6" to 5'10" who seemed to be constructed entirely of bone sinew and brown shoe leather. And bloody hell they were quick.

Oooh just seen this. I contemplated an organised tour then decided i'd much rather sort out my own route. More satisfying somehow.. Here's what i'll be doing next week:

there are loads of companies advertising in cycling weekly, some are leisure-y type holidays others are full on training camps, with normal stuff in the middle. just give them a call and see if they can give you an idea of their regular customer...
