Quick Q... for IVA, is there an issue putting a dry battery in the cabin... say under the passenger foot rest?

Cheers.

Not that I'm aware of.
It must be secured and the positive terminal must have a cover.

My F430 had the battery under the passenger footrest so shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks for the replies. Will find a way of fitting all the requisite bits where they need to go - just need to add two 2l fire extinguishers to the mix.

Why would you want to put the battery in such an a**hole of a place to get at???

What have you put where it would normally go?

Trying to fit fire extinguishers in there 2x2 litre and juggling to make them fit.

Does the front clip sit flush with the top of the chassis - is there any room at all above it, so that if the extinguishers sat a couple of inches proud it would not be a problem. Fitting the battery under the footrest was a thought, with the option of a charging link in the engine bay.

I think I would swap them round and have the extinguishers inside the car and the battery in it's normal place.
Have you thought of putting the extinguishers in the front of the passenger sidepod somehow. A lot of unused space there if you can access it.

I have no luggage containers so can utilise this space.

I put a 4L Lifeline system behind the passenger seat, just fits. I would rather leave it out of the sidepod, that offers a bit of side impact protection - you may end up wearing the extinguisher one day frown

.. The battery will stay in the front and the two extinguishers will be placed behind the seat(s) (either both or on top of each other or one behind the passanger and one behind the driver.

The only issue with this is you would struggle to get them out again if they need recharging etc without removing the pods.

I was thinking an inspection hatch in the floor..

Go from underneath, it wont be that often you need to do a recharge.

Id rather use the space behind the seats for storage.

less cluttered, tools, jumpers etc go there on road trips

If I recall, extinguishers need to be checked every two years. You also need the necessary sticker for scrutiny purposes if you are tracking, so they need to be easily accessible

Couldn't you save some space by wearing the jumper? (Sorry, couldn't resist....)
