Hi guys long time lurker and proud new owner, sorry to break the cardinal rule photos will follow but a quick question. The dealer came with me to fill her up and I was shocked to see the large metal filler cap dangling on the paintwork, all my other cars have had a storage slot or at least a fold over piece of plastic/foam to protect the paint
Was he missing something ? I imagine this would lead to scratches eventually so imagine there is a solution ?

When I picked mine up from Hagley, I was taken through the process of filling the car up, so I wonder why you were not. There is a rubber thingy under the spring which wears out Zod. Phone the dealer and I am sure that he will post you a replacement that, with the aid of some tweezers and some superglue, will make the cap spring up. It certainly worked with mine.

Mine was too heavy on my DB9 and too heavy on my brand new (when I bought it) V12V! Myflap does pop up an inch or so (DB9 was the same) when I press the button. Then I lift it all the way and stick the filler cap peg in the slot and the flap threatens to fall back. You're telling me the flap should spring all the way open and not show any sign of wanting to fall shut with the cap pegged into it? If so, givne it's under warranty, the dealer can sort it.
I am sure that he will. It was just that it would have been a 200m round trip to fix something that was within even my grasp and took about 20 seconds.Give him/her a call.

My 06 Volante has a pin/peg as described and there's a pin/peg hole for it but it's differently set up the coupe as it's all horizontal rather than on an angle like the coupe.

Good point. Having never put fuel in a coupe, I had rather assumed that there would be no difference between the two. On my car, the hole for the pin is really tight....to tight in fact...... Quickly and easily remedied, by drilling it out ever so slightly bigger... 9mm is spot on for anyone interested..
I always worry about the filler cap falling out of that hole in the flap, hadn't thought to drill it, but why not, seems like a good idea. Just need to keep the filler cap on whilst drilling nearby . 9mm is spot on for anyone interested..

I did mine ages ago, pretty much just after I bought the car as the cap never fitted properly....9mm drill, and the cap sits nice and snug.... Easy to place in, and easy to get out, without any undue pushing or pulling...
Flap stays open better too
