As the title says....I have other issues, mainly that my car has real problems starting from cold. I've been told that it could be the crank sensor, but I have also notice that at around the same time the car had starting issues the rev counter started playing up.

Yes. assuming your cars ecu uses the crank signal to run the rev counter.

Yep, if it kicks around like crazy, it's the crank sensor.

A lot of ECUs can try and figures things out by the cam sensor, but it ideally needs more info.

The connection between the negative battery terminal and the body is marginal.

Dodgy battery/charge can also give this .Speedo wangs round etc .
