Anyone know this car?

Evening chaps, don't venture here often (at all!)
Spotted this car, looks an absolute cracker, anyone know it and provide any info?

That's nice..... Is your friend after a "show" car then?
It's very pretty (from what you can see)... but as mentioned it's all about the chassis and there are no pictures of that. Assuming the chassis is as good as the rest of the car then it looks like it'd be a car you could buy and forget about for a while, just drive it and enjoy it.... and keep cleaning it.
Personally, for that money I'd be looking towardsa V8 S.
If your friend is after a "weekend car" or a "daily driver" rather than a car they can potnetially show I'd suggest it's a bit expensive..

If your mate is interested only 5 mins drive from me happy to have a quick look
Many thanks, he viewed it yesterday, along with one of the ones at 5ish that are on Autotrader. He now sees where the extra cost goes in terms of condition, apparently. There doesn't seem to be many good V8s around at the moment are there? Any recommendations?
But if you want a mint top dollar V6 how about:

Thanks Tony, saw that one. Not sure if being 'original' whether it's ever had the chassis attended to. Also being in NI represents an extra layer of logistical ballache.
Have learnt today the car in the OP has been subject to full chassis resto all finished in red as per the battery support area and various bits visible under the bonnet in the vid.

The car advertised above won the best S3 at last years S club and is a very tidy car and has probably had a lot of money and care spent on it (just ask SJS357 whats involved )money you will never get back so asking as you put it top money is still way below its value,so you are getting a good car.
A chimaera for that kind of cash will need a lot of work and probably chassis work done to get it anywere near as good a car.Stop being so negative when you see a car priced a little bit higher .
ITS ABOUT TIME PRICES STARTED TO GO UP A BIT THEY WONT BUILD ANY MORE !!

Sorry, wasn't intending to be negative (I have a vested interest after all
). It's not really a linear scale though - you do find a "ceiling" though, where you suddenly realise what other machinery is available at the same price, and with serviceable Chims swapping hands for the £5k mark, £7k should get you a pretty good one with some research IMHO.
If it is as good as it looks then I am sure the next owner will be very happy with their purchase.
As I am sure anybody with an older weekend car will testify, though, cars are happier when driven and I would be wary of a low miles "garage queen" - when they start getting driven is when hoses pop and things give way...
Both look fab though and make me
about getting a bit of paint done on mine...

Thats a nice car, but oh no, you wouldn't want that one with such low miles, things would be "giving way and hoses going pop" when it gets driven http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/4200298.htm

I've seen Chimaera's at the £5k-£7k and it would take a lot more time and money spent on them to be as sorted or as presentable as these 2 S'es

Couldn't disagree more . I know its perceived wisdom to be concerned about cars stored for a long time but the Irish car looks a very good buy at that money , with so little use if its been well stored there is no question of the chassis being anything but near perfect condition and my recollection is this car was part of a collection professionally stored and let go to make space for something more interesting ( as if ). A little money spent at a good specialist would sort hoses leads etc and give the car a good shake down and you would have a beauty .
This is only my view of course but surely as many S's start to look their age we shouldn't warn someone off a genuine car that needs a good owner .
If its not been looked after it could be a bag of nails but i doubt it .

I wouldn't have this car any other way than perfect condition as perversely said its in part of my collection of 7 TVR's

car.
"I'm not going to get my money back!!" car.

No seriously, suppose it very hard when you do have to come to sell after a lot of hard work and money have gone in.
That's not in my mind at all, yet. Any offers
......... No thanks what ever the price.
If I'd have wanted value for money on resell value after restoration.
TVR V8S wouldn't have been the car or brand for me.
I've just enjoyed the whole process, it's a big part of it for me.
I just have a passion for the V8S. Love em

There's a market value, that will go up - just will.
The L reg V8SC seems to have just sold possibly over £9k
Far play to the new owner.
As I'm not selling or buying. Let's make them the best we can.
And get the market to rise. Fair prices for good cars.
