Heres hoping someone out there is knowledgeable on Audis,in particular my 2005 A8L 4.0 TDI, and is prepared to help a stranger!! I am a qualified hgv mechanic and been fixing lorries for a long time, but i cannot locate the power steering reservoir anywhere!!! The reason I need to locate it is a sudden loss of power steering the other day, for a short burst, and now it doesnt feel quite right. Experience would tell me its low on fluid, although no visible leaks, and I understand this system is electronicaly controlled, and am wondering if it could be a relay problem?????? Its a complete chuffin mystery to me, but you would be assisting a mechanically minded, reasonably nice bloke keep his pride and toy on the road!! Any guessing I can do myself, good, knowlegeable and sound advise would be greatly appreciated, even if it is sorry mate, Audi only!

Is it just a camp on the pump itself. I would be one of the banks, being ran from an ancillary belt.
I know some cars don't run remote reservoirs, so it might be.
Also, is it definitely hydraulic, not electro?
This is just for the sake if asking, just to be sure, as I have no german car knowledge.

The Audi, VW, Seat & Skoda sub-forum under Other Marques on here is pretty good for questions like this.
