964 rear lenses/ reflector
Discussion
I've had to renew them on 2 of my 3 911s. No other option really. The price hurts a bit but the difference is massive.
I'm always glad I did it, once I have. They're such a big part of the look of rear end and they make or break the car.
It's also a good clue as to how looked after the car is.
You're lucky you can get them to be honest. They've been on back order for months, so even the people willing to buy them haven't been able to over the summer.
Get them bought you tight arse.

Some guys on the Rennlist 964 forum have used a red translucent vinyl film wrap to cover them and others have used a red tail light paint with really good results.
This is what the US guys use. Not sure where you'd get it in the UK but worth a bash before ordering new from Porsche (that's assuming they can supply them)...

Have a go with the film as you have nothing to lose.
I tried some red light tinting spray on a set I had and it wasn't great. Ok from a distance but nothing like factory finish.
I quite like that delete panel above but if it's Ruf it would probably cost more than the lights, even if it were available. You could achieve similar results by colour coding the old reflector to the bodywork, but again the cost would be as much as a new reflector.
The lights won't T-cut or polish or anything. The sun bleaches them so they go from a nice dark red to a washed out pink.
I'd be interested to see the results of that film stuff. Post pics if you're successful.

Sorry, saw 'Big Raff' from UK resurrected the Rennlist thread and asked about ordering a set a couple of days ago. I assumed it was you using a different username. He must have seen this thread I guess? Big Raff - you here??
Ordering info and Gus's details in post #158 and #159 in the link above.

Yup, same Big Raff here...this thread that sent me there to resurrect, which i am really grateful forOrdering info and Gus's details in post #158 and #159 in the link above.
It does look good to be fair and i look forward to giving it a go. One chap on RL said he used plenty of the liquid (for the vinyl to stick) to achieve his results...and they look the best (on the blue 964 on the last page or two)
