Fazer Thousand - any good?

I'm considering what my options would be for a sports tourer with a nice comfortable riding position for doing big distances. The Fazer thou' is a possible option. I may also want to commute on it into the smoke. Has anyone owned one of these, what did you use it for and could you commute think?

I haven't owned one but I have ridden one and it is an excellent all rounder that will tour, commute and scratch (to a certain degree).

However, in my view, both the Honda Blackbird and the Kawasaki ZZR1200 do all these things a little better. Go and test ride some bikes...

It's had some brilliant reviews and came first in a recent magazine's comparison of various bikes.

Stuff me though, I can't remember the mag.

Had one as a loaner while my R6 was being serviced. Bland looks but cracking performance. Bags of torque from very lazy revs. So I took a mate out for a spin on it and streeeetched his arms a little.

Only thing I found was that the handling was a little soft compared with the bikes I usually rode. But very comfortable.

I'd give it four stars (out of five)

Thanks for the comments guys, good to hear. Since I'm not looking for the ultimate sports machine here, it sounds like a fairly good compromise between comfort and handling.
