Mini car floor mats, any recommendations?
Discussion
My wife has a Mini which has the same problem with its mats pushing forward. I popped into BMW for her and picked up new fixers that screw into the floor. These take the form of plastic discs that provide the hook part of a velcro attachment the other part being the 'hairy' material on the underside of the floor mats themselves. Incidentally the same method as in Porsche although the Porsche ones seem to work and these seem a little poor in comparison.
The discs given to me were a lot larger in diameter to the ones I replaced so perhaps a recall/improvement has been made. They work a little better but I think the weakness now lies in the the 'hairy' part on the mats. Porsche have proper loop stitches on the underside of the mats. Maybe BMW have improved the mats too but we did not change these. My wife's car is a 2006.
