Help my daughter

I have a feeling I'm not going to hear the end of this at home. My 8 year old daughter and I both entered a wildlife photography competition run by our local wildlife trust and the People's Choice category has been whittled down to the finalists and the voting opened. Great I thought, let's see if I've been lucky enough to have a photo chosen ... nope, however my daughter has had two picked! She's going to brag about this for ages, FML and all that.

However as the loving (and not at all jealous ... much) father that I am I'd love to see her do well in the public vote, so if anyone fancies making her day (and giving her even more reason to laud it over her Dad) then head to the Flickr set and look out for numbers 12 & 13.

I'm incredibly proud of her, both shots were with my big Sigma 100-300, not the easiest lens to hand hold and particularly not when you're 8! Thanks for the vote.

I would'be voted for 13, as it's a superb photo for a photographer of any age.

Except for the leaf on the boar's head! That's just absolutely brilliant, so that's where my vote went.

Just found out that due to the photos going up slightly later than planned the voting is now running until 21st (tomorrow). If anyone still wants to vote for my daughters images please do!

I can finally update on this.

We've just a phone call to say the my daughter came second and third in the Peoples Choice award and she has also had her Nuthatch photo chosen in first place in the Budding Photographer category, making her Gloucestershire Wildlife Trusts Young Photographer of the Year! To say she is a little pleased would be an understatement. She has also begun rubbing it in with me because I didn't win anything.

Thank you to everyone who voted for her, you've helped make a little girl very happy.
