My sweaty paws seem to be taking their toll on the lovely suede steering wheel. Anyone got any tips on cleaning and rejuvenation?

Thought this kind of thing would occur with these wheels. Glad I didn't spec the full alcantara on the spyder and stuck with leather.

There are dedicated alcantara cleaners out on the market. Check out detailing websites. Polished bliss will have something.

An interior shampoo or mild detergent will clean it up quite well. The key with alcantara is regular cleaning though otherwise the dirt/oil etc just builds up and is hard to remove from the dense pile of the fabric.

Once you've got it clean again, I'd suggest going over it every week with a clean damp cloth.

Theres an interior cleaner in a black can with an orange lid from Halfords, i forget the brand sorry, my local OPC said i should try it and they were not wrong. Use a terry cloth and some of that stuff...

Regular cleaning is the key, don't let it build up.

I use RaceGlaze Alcantara cleaner with a stuff toothbrush and then wipe off with a clean cloth. But remember to raise the nap by brushing it up afterwards.

If it is really grubby or matted down, then I use a Kiwi suede/nubuck cleaning block first then the above process.

Both my cars have Alcantara wheels, right pain in the backside - but they do look and feel nice.
