Picked up a 1 owner 2005 E60 M5 yesterday with 53k on the clock yesterday. What a beast!

Fantastic car in immaculate condition and drives really well. Couple of minor issues (to be expected of a 7 year old car):

Metallic clunk/noise on certain road surfaces/bumps which appears to be coming from the sunroof
Reverse light failure

Apart from that feels like it's fresh out the factory. smile

It came with 1 year comprehensive BMW warranty so hopefully I'm covered for any issues!

I've only ever seen one in this colour which was shortly after they were released. It looked fantastic.

More pics!?

Well I went out superbike baiting round the Dales last night. What an amazing machine... lots of thumbs up from the two-wheeled boys as I let the V10 howl.

Best of all, the two faults seem to have fixed themselves. The car is pretty much perfection at the moment... coming from Alfas I've never experienced such a thing! wink

I've got this on mine (also a 2005 car)

The cause is the wind deflector. The parts of the mechanism that push it down when the sunroof closes get dry and mean that the deflector doesn't get pushed down far enough, and it clanks against the glass in the sunroof when going over certain bumps.

Two fixes:

1) After closing the sunroof, stick your hand up there and pull the wind deflector down manually. This is what I'm doing at the moment.

2) Apparently sticking some WD40 or similar on the mechanism that lowers the deflector helps it close properly and stops the clanking.

Thanks. I thought it might be something like that! smile
