PVR that records from external source?
Discussion
Rather than dig out my old VHS from wherever it got buried when I moved home, I'm looking at getting a freeview HDD PVR. I also need to be able to record from other than the internal tuner though, either composite or SCART input. There seems to be a dearth of these for some reason, whereas just about every VCR was able to do this.
Anyone able to suggest something suitable? I'm looking to avoid having an AV capture device attached to a computer to acheive this if I possibly can, having it integrated with a Freeview HDD recorder would make life and wiring / shelf space etc easier.

You can pick up something like an old panasonic pvr up off ebay for about £20 with a dvd drive built in.
I have a dmr-eh50 I think 80gb hd with dvd drive. You can muck about editing on the hd then burn to disc when finished.
They are this cheap as they only have analog tuner but it records from any of the 4 external inputs.
Works a treat for what you want to do, editing is a bit clunky till you get the hang of it but can be done.
I just put the above model number in ebay there was one about to finish at 25 quid and another at 1p with a few days to go.
Don't be surprised by high postage its a pretty heavy well made old thing.
