Anyone know what the part number is for the V8 Rocker Cover Gasket? Are they standard Rover V8 Gaskets?

I am going to be taking mine off so thought I would replace the gaskets whilst I am at it!

Cheers

A lick of paint is more likely polishing is far too much hard work????

What about the Gaskets I would think they are standard Rover V8 ones???

"Smiffy",
Yes they are standard Rover parts. You can/could get both rubber and cork type, I understand, depending on age of engine(?)
I renewed mine in April, just 'phoned up TVR power (Coventry), gave them the year of my V8 and got them a few days later. Need to be careful putting them on. and get the cover 'sitting' properly in the groove in the joint face (a bit of hylomar helps to stick it there as you offer the cover and gasket to the cylinder head).
Hope this helps. Nick (Hants)

Cheers Nick,
Yes ordered some rubber ones from a supplier about an hour or so ago, cheers. Thanks for the heads up about re-fitting them, will possibly ask a mate to help who works for Land Rover, he should know the best way to fit them.

Now this is the problem with looking under other S owners bonnets at Silverstone.... fills your head with ideas for more changes and modifications!

I know, I have been thinking about some mods since Sunday too (better check the bank balance can cope first)!

I know what you mean Mike. I took the day off work yesterday as I'd promised the wife a trip to Canterbury in the Tiv. When I saw the huge black clouds looming and thought of all that cleaning I decided to go in the Eurobox. The wife now calls me Mr Sheen! Sorry Andy, hope she hasn't exposed me to any potential litigation!
