Hey there, I'm looking at buying a cerbera but im not sure which one to go for. Any advice or info regarding the 4.5 or speed 6 would be great.
Thanks. Phil

they're both great but for completely different reasons .. too many to go into really .. though using the search archive facility is a good start

.. I'm sure respective sp6 and 4.5 owners will be along with their own experiences ..

I would go for the 4.2 out of the two you have listed.

(4.5s too pricey for a little extra low down torque, money better spent on suspension)

As for the Speed six, look in the Tuscan forums at the posts that have stuck at the top and join your own conclusions.

I'm assuming this is a rhetorical question, right

4.2. Agree with BCA.

Or an S6 if you can find one that's absolutely, definitely, positively, without a shadow of a doubt had all of the necessary "upgrades" (including Red Rose)

So if most standard 4.5s put out about 350-360 how much does the 4.2 achieve?

I think I also read somewhere that the 4.2 has a better plenum arrangement.

And will there ever be a Red Rose for the 4.2 - or do you have to go other routes to increase power?

Cheers

What is your budget Phil? Oh, and the answer is a 4.5 - otherwise you'll always be wondering what 'The Daddy' would have been like.

Does everyone think that was subtle enough?

I wish I were a able to afford a nice car when I was at Uni!

Good luck!

In retrospect I'd go for a 4.2 re performance....but my 4.5 breaks certainly look alot nicer!

At the end of the day it depends whether you want a straight 6 or a V8. There are lots of technical pros and cons to each, but at the end of the day people seem to go with the heart.

Where's your heart at?

Sorry to hi-jack the thread slightly but why do you say that?

Back on topic, I'd certainly go for the AJP8 (4.2 or 4.5) as I think the Cerbera is all about the flat plane crank racing V8 .

Sorry to all SP6 owners, I'm sure your cars are great too .

Duncan

AJP8 Yeah baby Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've got a 4.2, when (if) I trade it in, it'll be for a 4.5

I'd only get the 4.5 I was going to RR the engine. Otherwise you're paying £ks extra for negligible/arguable benefit.

Spend the saving on getting the suspension sorted, and have a nice holiday in the Bahamas/Maldives/wherever.

Cerberas (Cerberae?) have engines other than the 4.5?
Why?

Nick

PS Oh, and get a yellow one or you'll regret it

4.5...not a purple one - they are horrid!

SP6 did not even cross my mind..
Missed out on a 4.2, bought next one which i fell in love with....a 4.5 so i wasnt too bothered.
Although a yr younger the 4.5 was a few 000's more...ah well!
