5.0 XFRs compared to X358 XJR???
Discussion
Hi All,
Now that 5.0 XFRs are heading towards the kind of money I'm prepared to spend on a car
, how many people can offer some real life feedback of them compared to my current 2007 XJR?
The main reason I would be thinking of changing is the extra performance available from the XFR but I'm not sure how 'refined' it would be compared to the XJR.
My suspiscion is it's probably just as good if not better. I had a diesel XF as a loan car last year for a day and was very impressed with it other than it being a bit boring and the interior a little bit too 1980's Matsui'ish.
Are the XFRs any better inside and the refinement not ruined by the bigger engine?
Any pointers?
Cheers

I ran a X350 XJR for 3 years and currently have an XFR which I've now had for almost 3 years (20k miles)
I don't think you will lose much if any refinement - but the ride will be noticeably firmer.
Handling, gearbox, performance are much better. XFR is much more of a driver's car.
Recently I have been considering a change of car but could not think of anything I'd rather have so the XFR will stay for the time being.

Out of interest, what's your average MPG? Not that it matters much but I'm curious.
