M25 J6 to Wrexham?

I need to be near Wrexham, Friday late afternoon.

Departure is from near J6 of the M25, the route I'd take just to get there as quickly & with the least fuss is (done a couple of times before):

M25/M40/M42/M5/M6/M54/A5. This should take around 4 hours depending on departure time/traffic.

Any suggestions to make it a bit more interesting, I'm thinking keep the route the same for all the motorway stuff but then vary the A5 leg?
