Firstly I am sorry for this posting, I know it's in the Stolen Wiki bit but this car has been plastered all over FaceBook all morning, and with the amount of people that have actually shared it, looks like the chances of recognising it or the towcar might bring it back 
Taken at about 3am from South Ruislip
The last recorded sighting (being towed):
Many people might ignore this post but for anyone that doesn't mind a mouse click it can be shared on FB publically here:

I know the owner of this, and both him and his partner are absolutely gutted it's been stolen.
It's more sentimental to them than just a classic Ford. Last night they set of looking in the areas local to where there had been some sightings.
If anybody knows of anyone with that Astra van in the photo or of anyone trying to offload or saying they've just got an Orange Mk1 Escort, please let them know. It was a non-runner so sadly is unlikely to be on the road, more likely on a low loader of some sort.
If the Mods don't mind, I'll be posting this in the regional areas too as I'm sure there must be someone, somewhere who knows something about this.

kers get a good kicking.As far as the van goes, white Astra vans are ten-a-penny in standard guise and look like so...
However the one in the images is pretty distinctive as it's modified. It's a Mk5/H so sort of 2004 model year to present date and it appears to be lowered with a rear bumper extension, side skirts and what looks like an XP2 front lip spoiler (ie from an Astra SRi) and has 5 spoke alloys.
Granted, modified vans are quite common these days too but alot of them have VXR styling, like this...
Whereas the van in question appears to have this front bumper...
And I've deliberately not put up pictures of modified vans in case anbody jumps to conclusions, all I'm saying is the XP2 bumper (as see in the last image) isn't very common on vans and certainly wasn't done from the factory. The main bumper yes, the lower splitter/skirts/rear bumper extension... no.
So, the van in the top picture:

Standard white in colour but with the following additions/modification... XP2 lower splitter, side skirt extensions, rear bumper extension, rear upper tailgate spoiler, lowered suspension, what appears to be silver/white roof rails, body coloured mirrors, body colour body mouldings and silver five spoke alloy wheels.
Might help jog some memories...

Ok, it would 'appear' to look very similar to the following van aside for the fact the one in question is white, has different wheels and roof rails but bodykit wise... it looks the same if not very similar.

Just a heads up, been on the phone to the people who have had this stolen from them, they're organising people to help look for the car. They believe it is still in the general area. If you're interested in helping and are in the Ruislip/ Harrow area, please PM me or contact the number for the car and say you're willing to help.

Hmmm i would say that the van towing is a barely modified Astravan Sportive SE.
The obvious tell tale signs of a genuine SE are the silver roof rails as these were standard fit, as opposed to black, and not many people could be bothered to swap them.
Body kits however, are easy to come by.
The wheels are not correct for an SE as they appear to be from an Astravan Sportive.. It would be odd that someone would swap them from the 17's to the 16's, however who knows.
The SE was produced from 2008 - 2011, where now they are still available, but lower output, spec etc.

You could be on to something there chap and without wanting to get all Inspector Clueso here... if indeed it is a Sportive SE (which certainly accounts for the bodykit, roof rails, colour coding etc) then they were pretty rare in white. Surely the police can use DVLA data to narrow it down to Vauxhall > Astravan > Sportive aand then the area. Though that's perhaps a bit too optimistic and that's also assuming it is a Sortive and not a bomb the base van spec'd up. And that's not to say it's not nicked or incorrectly registered.
Clutching at straws here, though think I'm just shocked at the fact there's no results as of yet... pretty distinct van and car, CCTV footage and so on.

When i had my motorbike stolen i was like a thing possessed.First thing i did was print off lots of posters of the bike in local shops offering a reward,then i started thinking of people who go everywhere and see everything,postmen;window cleaners and the likes.
Got my bike back within three days!I actually drove past a window cleaner when i had the idea of trying to pass on the posters to them. I reversed back,told him what had happened.Within a few days friend of a friend of this window cleaner had bought the bike!!Rewards tend to loosen tongues,especially with pics to work on too.

It's hard to believe, and worrying that something so distinctive can just 'go missing'.
There's been allot of internet publishing about this, so either they're both being hidden away well out of sight or someone is being paid very nicely to say nothing.
It's not super-rare, as a car goes is it? Seems to be a few owners clubs and projects for sale on various sites..
