It's now under £6k? yikes

What can be so wrong with it that it hasn't sold already?

It was going to be mine... But my wife wouldn't let me have two S's unless I had a lottery win to pay for it... That reminds me that the Euromillions is on tomorrow wink

It was running 355 on throttle bodies. Ex Griff engine. It was featured in Sprint. January 09 as I recall. I came within an argument of going to buy it. thumbup

indeed, sounds like a little "underdog" with some grunt.

if it was a LHD it would be even more interesting for this side of the pond.

also important, how good is the chassis...

I have PM Keithy looking for more info but he must be on holiday as he has not responded. Perhaps it's sold already?

Great value for the money and must be a real blast to drive however for the purists out there it's non originality is probably why it hasn't sold.

At least it's a TVR motor, as opposed to a BMW Z3 with a LS1 I saw last year at Mallory Park.

It's a lovely V8's and if I was looking I would be extremely tempted at that price! The single exhaust and custom dash could easily be replaced with the correct items ( If you were really that bothered! )

Forgive me Neil but i have to disagree. If anyone is a purist then DONT BUY A TVR!
The fact that this S has a 5.0 ltr engine in it should be a massive plus point for selling. Its also [going by the ad] had better brakes and suspension which again are both plus points.
Lets be honest, most TVR owners drive their cars as they were intended, which is fast, so a few mods in the engine, brake and suspension dept can only help you go quicker.
If i didnt have my chim i would buy this car tomorrow.
Why is it not selling?
I.M.O its because the ad says "Its Jools ex trackday car" and this could be a good point, or then again a bad point, in that it has been thrashed to within an inch of its life on track. Just all depends on how it was driven.
Again if your a purist then stay away from TVR cars, go and buy an MGB or something sad and similar!
I owned an MGB convertible in the early 90's. Oh the impulsion of youth. hehe

I couldn't agree more that the 5ltr engine and uprated brakes & suspension being a huge 'plus' to the car. I was referring to the first impressions of the car as in the non originality/style of exhaust and custom dash (would be easily corrected) which would put people off. Having history of being used as a track car will also be a big negative for obvious reasons.

Purist', you get them with every classic going the 'S' series being no exception, and non originality generally means less money or a pig to shift on. This V8s is a lot of fun for it's money.

Thanks for the mostly positive comments. Whilst its not the tidiest car out there (the photos do flatter it wink) it is value for money! Its been viewed and driven by several potential buyers but no one's made an acceptable offer . . . yet - but I will take a reasonable one. However, I do need to sell it very soon now as SWMBO is itching for me to help her fund a new car and she's getting very impatient! If it doesn't go soon - I'll break it for parts and spares which I don't want to do as an enthusiast myself - the engines got to be worth £3.5k alone! biggrin btw - Nitrons on front, Protecs on rear, Griff front brake upgrade, stainless lines, race cam, modified induction, Emerald ecu, coil packs. Brand new alternator and windscreen. It does really need paint though to bring it right up to scratch but its priced accordingly. biggrin

This would be a great project for someone - I'm really surprised it hasn't gone at that price. What state is the chassis in ? That would be the decider for me if I was in the market ( so tempted but no garage space ! ) If anyone goes for it, I know just the man to sort out the bodywork/paint at a very reasonable price.

Its clearly had chassis work done previously - Jools wouldn't have risked it on the track if it wasn't in order and its been garaged ever since. biggrin
