Rookie mistake any advice?

Tonight I flipped the stem on my bars to try for a more comfortable ride, how ever once I had done this the rear brake was a mile away from the wheel. To get the rear brake to work I have had to undo and pull the cable through the clamp by almost a CM.

So now that its all back together and the rear brake is working what did I do wrong?

You have changed the cable length by lowering the stem i would say....ie if it goes lower there will become more slack in the cable...or you have moved the adjuster that opens brake body to allow wheel removal ,and not done it back up.

I actually flipped the stem to make it more comfortable so its pointing up now, but that makes sense about changing the cable length. Good to know I didnt damage anything cheers
