V12V Brake Pads

Well mine are officially down to 4mm so I am told in the range to be replaced (soon). That is 10,000 miles and with normal road driving they would make a maximum of 15,000 miles. Any trackday use significantly wears them to the point where I may not get beyond 12,000 in mine. So where did I read that they were meant to last up to 30,000 miles?? Was that with Jockman driving one

As the discs need weighing and potential replacement after 3 sets of pads........... Anyone want to but a V12V

I am not sure if anyone else on a DBS or V12V has replaced pads yet, it would be interesting to know what mileage people are getting?

I thought CCMs last much longer than regular discs/pads? Is that not the case?

How much are they to replace compared to standard ones?

I think the pads are about £1500 for a full set

That's not as bad as I was expecting to be honest (was thinking more along the lines of Michael's price). Apt number for the V12V too

With Jockman driving they'd be lucky to see 2000 miles.......... He's never off them..... I believe his brake pedal rubber is the only one showing any wear

Is he not just keeping the mighty DB9 slowed down so the V8Vs can keep up?

I got mine replaced free under warranty as they were squeaking.

Perhaps yours are squeaking too...

I got approx 14000? out of my rears and approx 16,000 out of my fronts. I had the corresponding tyres changed at the same time

Rears replaced at 20k....... Fronts still going strong........I don't use the brakes, it just slows you down

Yeah, only useful if you can get up to any real speed in the first place

All BR cars seem to get a name... El Diablo?...wasn't there a possesed car called Christine...I said car John not a possesed driver !!!

Maybe in the tradition of the RAF you could put a logo on the side of your car of a set of pads with a cross through them... 1 set CCM pads - Eliminated !

From what I have heard, some of the Porsche guys with CCM equipped cars take them off, run top-notch steels and then put the CCMs back on to sell the car. They were considered, like CDs in the old days, to be indestructable... I think cars are so fast now that they wear and tear just like steels and regular pads now. Plus CCMs can crack and do squeal. It's why I stuck with steels, just got some very good ones.

Say they last 3 times as long... guess they cost 3 times as much to replace..? So all in all, a net gain as you only have to pay one lot of labour and hassle.

I've heard similar stories with 360CSs.

TonyV12V has 6,500 miles and approx 9mm of pad left whereas I have 4 mm of pad material left after 10,000 miles. That would equate perhaps to nearer 15 - 20K miles for him, but no more. I am collecting the new pads tomorrow, so will measure a new set and see what material there is.

Hmm... TBH, they don't sound like they're doing what they promised on the tin...
