Ride a quad round Europe - ok!!

Hi!
I'm in the middle of riding my quad bike round Europe for Great Ormond Street Hospital!!
I started in Colchester, Essex and rode down to Plymouth and ferried over to Santander - 6 weeks and 3035 miles later and a blog entry every day round Spain and Portugal I am now in France broken down waiting for parts!
Have a read of my blog on my website - its got a world of interesting stories and pictures so far.
I'm waiting on repairing my bike to plan the route onwards but it will either be up to Belgium and holland or across to Italy, up Switzerland, Germany, luxembourg, Belgium and Holland.
We'll see!

It's for a charity that are saving children's lives for gods sake!
Probably because PH has many thousand members! They can't have everyone posting their charity events (however good the cause is) so they have a no charity event rule (number 16 in posting rules) it's not something aimed personally at you.Waiting for one to come from uk.

It's a massive thing to take on and i am having as much fun as I am having some really hard times aswell.
I can't wait to get moving again. Really hoping that the bike part turns up on Monday as it didn't today. I wanna get moving over to Italy now then up through switzerland, Luxembourg, Germany, Belgium and holland.
Very unhappy that the rear shock didn't come today.

Moving on today - I have to get everything sorted out at the hostel and packed and showered, have some lunch and I'm off to Toulon.
I woke up early - but certainly didn't get up! Haha. Had to sort out yesterday's blog which I deleted after adding all the photo links and had to do it again. I sent a message to Chris to find out the phone number for Marie in Toulon and went and made my self a massive bowl of salad.
I felt very fresh tidy for some reason - must have been the long walk yesterday and lazy night in last night with a really good sleep. It wasn't a very long ride - I still had 3 out of 5 bars of petrol left on the dash and wouldn't need to refill - its only 60km or so.
There was about 20km of main road then up into the hills - I'd done an extra good job strapping everything in the back of the bike today - I have days like that when it just feels well fastened - good job too as these roads up over the hills were amazing! They didnt give me much chance to get into fourth gear for long - I was flying through the corners - now remembering how good the bike is - its been a lot of main roads lately. The performed like a motocross bike with the short ratios in first second and third and I was racing round the hills like a champion! Haha. The fun was soon over when I got to the bottom and back to normal roads but I'd had a lot of fun with a new 'Hed Kandi' hour of music I'd downloaded on my phone. (check it out in podcasts on iTunes)
Arriving at Toulon I popped in to a macdonalds and checked for the phone number from Chris which he had sent to me - thanks!
I got in to the town/marina and had a little walk round before stopping to call Marie at her friends house. She told me a bar/restaurant to meet her facing the boats in the marina at 7 pm so I had 4 hours or so to have a walk round.
Now I know I was quite impressed with my haircut that I did myself but enough was enough - I walked past a hairdressers that had a sign with 10 euros for a trim so went in.

I've found the bar to meet at later and am now sat having a beer at a different one in the sun - with a sign saying Wifi - that after ordering I find out doesn't work at the moment.
Typical. I don't mind paying 5.50 for a pint if I can sit and use the Internet for an hour aswell.
Moving on after this beer then I think. For anyone reading that may have a bar or restaurant - make it very visual that you have free wifi - I've met a hundred people who only go and have a beer or food in the places they know they can also check emails etc. (and make sure it's working haha)

Just had a couple of beers in a bar that no one else was in and the only place I could find wifi - the lady running it was sat outside near me and told me to help myself so I've been getting my own beers - felt quite nice in a way.
Marie and Monique arrived at La Gitane - the bar I was meeting them at and we sat and chatted for a while until Fifi turned up on his motorbike. We had a beer and then went to a thai restaurant for some dinner where two more friends joined us. The food was lovely - and so was the company. I really do need to learn some more French though!
We went back to Moniques house where we stayed for the night - its a very old house built in to the side of the hills above Toulon - ill get some pictures in the daylight tomorrow.
