A few hours in Aberdeen...
Discussion
I'm flying up to Orkney tomorrow and my stop over has stretched to 5 hours in Aberdeen.
Allowing a couple either end for getting off and on planes, is there something you would do in Aberdeen, on a Sunday, in 3 hours, other than sit at the airport and have crap airport food and a couple of beers?
I guess it'd need to be central as I'd be depending on public transport.
Any thoughts (Coke and Hookers not accepted as a valid suggestion ).

Possibly get the train in to Aberdeen from Dyce (where the airport is). You'll arrive at Union Square which is pretty much bang in the middle of Aberdeen. Lots of shops/places to eat/pubs/a few museums/cinemas around the centre.
The beach isn't far away from the centre either, maybe a 15-20 minute walk. Quite nice when we're lucky with the weather.
The train ride is maybe 10 minutes from Dyce to Aberdeen. I'm sure there's a bus service as well, just not familiar with it.
A taxi wouldn't be too bad either, gives you a bit more flexibility. Think it's £15-20 or so from the airport.
