Yes - very irritating.

Being a bit more aggressive with the brakes gets rid of it but it keeps coming back.

Yep mine does it as well, had a heated chat with service department as they say its not covered under warranty as I could have got the brakes too hot.... My reply was isn't it a M car not a X1 surely they've allowed for them to get hot!!
Cars in at the minute for a rattle and asked them to sort the brakes out will see what happens......

Might have got hot?? Its a 550bhp 2 tonne //M car what do they expect! confused

Slightly off topic but apart from the squealing are they good brakes? Can't say I agree entirely from personal experience but generally people say that all BMW //M car brakes are no good just be interested to know if the F10 M5 suffers from the same?

Better than the E60 M5's set up. When we tracked the F10's after the launch they felt really good.

just completed 8000 miles and brakes have started squeeking over last week or so,

when the f10 m5 was released many of the reviews mentioned the brakes as a rather weak point in the overall package, especially after use on track.

in my own personal road driving I havn't noticed any difference in brake performance between the F10 and E60 M5, although I did over 50000 miles in my E60 M5 and the brakes never squeeked.

Standard brakes on the F10 were absolutely spot on when we took them on track after launch. They feel a fair bit more positive than the ones on the E60.
