And I know diddly squat tbh. I mean, has he said anything noteworthy or technical as a presenter on the beeb coverage? Just general bland statements like Red Bull will probably perform better in the race tomorrow than in qualifying. No st Sherlock

its been frustrating me all season & I've finally had enough!

I think Anderson has been something of a coup for the BBC. His comments during the race are always worth listening to. I watched Sky for the qually and the thought went through my mind that GA would get an offer at the end of the season.

He is one of the reasons why I still buy Autosport. On the Beeb he is always on the money with his calls on team strategy and the errors they make in a race.

Like DC, he has improved with airtime. Sky desperately need someone like that; Ted is really just a pitlane newsgatherer, not a technician.

Correct, but why are you comparing them?

Because he is the nearest person i can see in their team to anyone who is technically focussed...but i have only recently started to watch the Sky coverage recently and may have missed their equivalent of Anderson?

Gary is at his best when they ask him to explain something, he gets his pad and pen and does a simple little drawing that makes complicated things easy to understand.

He also has interesting stuff to say on bbc.co.uk/f1

I don't know what Anderson provides as I've fully switched to Sky, but Ant Davidson provides great tech insight from a drivers perspective.

Ant Davison like when he comments on drivers like Alonso making mistakes when he's achieved absolutely zero in F1 as a driver? jackass.
Sky coverage is as tacky and throw away as the trash papers and crap Rupert peddles, hate it.

He provides an engineering, design, team operation perspective and not just a technical view from a driver that the likes of ant or DC etc do. I wouldn't be surprised if sky sign him up next year. he very good and very knowledgeable.

Teds a bit up his own arris.
I was in the paddock in Barcelona the year Kimi blitzed qualifying in a Fezza. I looked over at Ted, and said, hows it going? I can't remember what he grunted back, but he had this smugness about him. Scruffy jeans, and doctor martins, scuffed. The blokes going nowhere.
As far as Andersons concerned, if he's that good, why isn't he working in a team?

I can tell you when Alonso has made a mistake. In qualifying today, for example. Let me give you a hint, I've achieved nothing in F1 either.

As did Martin Brundle, or is that didn't.
However, Jose Morino was never a good footballer.

Nuff said?

I've loved GA's technical input. Just what the long term fan needs.

I believe Mr Anderson has worked for teams, I want to say Jordan? Not 100% mind.

Either way I think he is a great addition to the BBC team. While Jake, EJ and DC have a bit of banter and don't always take it seriously, Garry Anderson adds some good tech talks in terms people new to F1, or maybe the engineering in F1, could understand.

Gary Anderson
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_Anderson_(motors...

Also worked with some of the GP2 teams, A1GP, Dallara, MotoGP and lots of consultancy work

On technical and strategy stuff, he rules!

Love how he cuts to the chase and isn't afraid to call it as he sees it.

And some bloke on PH who has achieved absolutely zero as a TV commentator commenting on Ant Davison ? If you watched a little less F1 and a bit more motor sport you might realise that AD is a seriously good Intl class driver who .like many , didn't get the breaks in GP racing.

I seem to recall an article in motorsport recently, where GA hinted he will be back in an F1 team next year
