Going to Rome in October
Discussion
So, I have to be at a meeting just outside Rome in late October - for a week.
Heading there from NE England. I reckon I have two choices - fly,
or - get the ferry from Newcastle or Hull, drive to Dusseldorf and use motorail to Italy (helps with timings), attend the meetings and then take the scenic route home
Anyone have any thoughts, tips or advice ?

FLY.
Spend as much as you can get away with, on a really good hotel. Something like The Aldrovandi Palace.
Work will be paying right?
Yes - but I own the company Spend as much as you can get away with, on a really good hotel. Something like The Aldrovandi Palace.

And it's not a very exciting week and I fancy a bit of fun on the trip.
(now, give me the right PH answer please )

option #2 and when you are in Rome add a road trip to Mount Terminillo and the surroundings, you won't be disappointed!
On the way back home, depending on how much time do you have, many different roads could be driven.....
