Hi all, I was hoping to get some feedback via a short questionnaire on used car purchasing. The aim is to focus on the service history aspect of the used car market, if you would trust owners that service cars themselves and also if this is more or less important when buying a performance car.
The survey is only 5 questions long and it would be great to get as many answers as possible.

I would buy a very cheap car with no service history
oddly i would rather buy a car with no service history than one where i know the owner has serviced it themselves 9i spose it depends how much they have poked around with it) but I can't help but feel i would worry that they may have done something to it that wouldcause safety concerns.
i wouldnt buy a car that i had serviced, lets put it that way.

Done, although needs clarification on "no service history".
Does that mean, 'nothing at all, no trace/record of any service' or does it mean servicing all over the place, at the wrong time, without the correct parts/types/interval etc.
Im probably just being pickey but im sure we all have different opinions on what it means

As for my own personal opinion, i agree with both DukeDickson and Mojooo in that i would only buy a cheap car with no service history as it's low risk and as Mojooo also stated, i think i would constantly worry if a previous owner may have tinkered with it in the wrong way to possibly cause either a safety issue or £££ (obviously if the owner could prove he/she had experience in the motor industry then thats a different story but then being in the trade, they still could have probably put some sort of servicing 'stamp' in).
Captain Cadillac - interesting that service history is rare across the pond is this due to the cost of servicing or that everyone is better educated with a spanner?
Derp - no service history meant to me, no way of finding out the servicing history of the car. I will try and amended this to the questionnaire to better define it as your correct, it is a little vague at the moment! Thanks.
